13 Injured as Houthis Launch Missile and Drone Attacks on Saudi Cities

RIYADH: Tensions across the Middle East intensified after Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement launched a new wave of missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.

Saudi authorities said 13 civilians were injured in attacks affecting Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif. Seven residential homes and two vehicles were also damaged, according to the Saudi-led coalition.

The escalation comes as fighting along Yemen’s Red Sea coast intensifies and the Houthis expand their territorial presence around strategically important maritime routes. The developments have also complicated diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy corridors.

The latest violence has raised fresh concerns about global oil supplies. Any prolonged disruption around the Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb or Hormuz could put additional pressure on energy prices and international shipping.
