Russia Launches 200-Drone Attack as Ukraine Strikes Russian Oil Facilities
KYIV: The Russia-Ukraine conflict has entered another dangerous phase as both sides continue attacking energy infrastructure despite diplomatic efforts to stop such strikes.
Russia launched around 200 drones overnight, damaging petrol stations in Kyiv and infrastructure elsewhere. Ukraine subsequently targeted a Russian oil refinery and facilities linked to drone production.
The continued attacks are adding pressure to an already strained global energy market. Disruptions to Russian fuel production are particularly significant because diesel supplies are already under pressure.
US President Donald Trump’s proposed energy truce has therefore faced an immediate test as attacks continue.
